Motivate XR: Co-Designing the Immersive Experience of the Industrial Future
Motivate XR is a European project with the ambition to innovate industrial training and technical support through the use of Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. The project has a dual objective: on one hand, to make training and maintenance activities in complex production environments more accessible and effective; on the other, to equip companies — even those lacking advanced digital skills — with tools to create and manage immersive content in a simple, intuitive, and secure way.
The project is based on a user-centered strategy aimed at transforming existing technical documentation into interactive experiences through the combined use of generative AI, digital twins, and no-code technologies. Supporting this approach, Motivate XR integrates 3D videogrammetry, real-time remote collaboration, and telepresence within an infrastructure designed to ensure data security and process scalability.
The value of the project goes well beyond technological innovation: it aims to support the economic development of SMEs, enhance social inclusion by making XR technologies accessible to a broader range of workers, and contribute to environmental sustainability by enabling remote training and support.
